Proof of Concept

The RT has been incorporated into several prototype weapons, each of which has been repeatedly fired successfully over recent years fully controlling the recoil. The first prototype was based on an adaptation of a framework of a 1911 .45 ACP semi-automatic pistol, using a .22 Magnum round, equivalent to a 9mm Luger round, and showed a substantial counter recoil force. This initial testing procedure consisted of firing the prototype with the different component sets and monitoring and comparing the results.

The success of these early tests is significant when it is noted that the goal for the development of the initial prototype was not to effectively reduce recoil, but to confirm the patent specifications and establish the internal spread of major components which form the basis of the technology.

To avoid damage to the RT components, the power of the test cartridges was scaled down to .22 Long Rifle (.22LR) calibre and testing with this combination showed a reduction in recoil over that seen with the conventional component set, using the same mechanical set-up and calibre.
